About me and nelson, both of us are pretty stressful about work lately. Both of us have some issue at work that need to solve but don’t know how to do. I am planning for the work till Jun 08 and kinda got stuck. Need a lot of wisdom and courage, drive and PASSION in doing my work. Both of us don’t sleep very well at night, have a lot of dreams……
Please pray for my job hunting, I’ve just turned in 2 application today for ICHS. Also, please pray for my road trip, as I will be leaving 8/10 for a road trip to California and be back around 8/22. Thanks.

I have been looking for apartment since June and I haven’t find any until now. Please pray for me, thanks !@
I did my presentation today. It is good. I thought the message would be relevant to us:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Phil. 4:6
Got all of the prayer request and have prayed for you all!
I am a bit overwhelmed by the work load. I am searching for a research direction for the post-doc who is coming in Sept. Please pray for my wisdom to select/prepare a good direction for her that will lead to fruition.
Glad to see everybody’s voice on on here. I have prayed for all of you. Please pray for me and my quest to go back to Highline. I asked my parents last night and they want me to wait two more years. I cried a lot last night. But I’m okay now. I hope my health and confidance will get better in these two years, so I can get back to school sooner. I leave my worries to God lah.
Prayer Request from Ray
Hi everybody! For those of you who haven’t heard, on Tuesday night I got me a temperature of 101. On Tuesday morning it dropped to slightly above 100. Then by Wednesday evening around 9pm, my temperature went above 103.
The team left this morning to go do ministry while I stayed back to rest up. Now my temperature is at 100.4. I’m feeling better… I’m up and about… please continue to pray that I’d feel better and that I’d be able to go back out into the field soon. Feel free to pass on this info on other mailing lists.
I got an email from pastor Dennis about the Macau STM sharing. Please pray for me and Aliza as we are going to discuss what to put into our presentation.
Jaycee: wish you a relaxing trip home. I probably won’t try injection one more time for my nerve pain. The next step will be surgery… Look forward to seeing you in September. Shall continue to remember you in my prayers.
Re Jaycee: The picnic was great! The food was great and the park was kinda new so it was clean, plaed a bit frisbee, baseball, and volleyball too….and good to hear from you and know ur safe
i have a “weird” prayer request cuz i dun really know how to explain it in words….my mood was so upside down after i went to church this sunday….it’s kinda like im mad at myself and things do not go as what i expect….and also, since i came back from HK i have been having a feeling of being disconnected from things around me (esp. people), im frustrated and i kinda needa “warm up” again and break this passiveness inside me. i know it sounds confusing but this is the best i got. hope u guys get it…
Jaycee ~ glad to know you arrived safely Hope you are having a good time in HK.
Alex ~ I will pray for you. Sometimes I need to warm up too, so you are not alone. Hope you feel more connected as time comes. Feel free to msn or call me, if you wanna talk to someone.
Hope things are going well for everybody. will keep you all in my prayers. Have a good night~
Please see the following emails from Dennis this morning (6:00am, Thur) and pray for the Short Term Mission Team members and their parents
As you all know there was an earthquake at Peru last night. We are still trying to find out more information from the C&MA district and headquarter. So far, we have NOT heard from any member from the mission team yet. We are hoping we will hear from them today since they are scheduled to fly out from Peru at 5am (Peru time). If the flight leaves as scheduled, they should be in Houston in early afternoon. I am sure one of the members will call home once they touch down Houston. Keep praying for this team and I will update all of you as soon as I hear any news.
Keep PUSHing (Pray Until Something Happen) hard for the team and all the parents.
Hi,
I just checked the flight status of 9057 (operated by COPA air) and it flew out of Lima at 5:24 this morning. It is scheduled to arrive Panama at 9:11am. I am sure we all hope the team got on the flight. I believe this is the flight they are supposed to get on leaving Lima.
Dennis
Below is an update, seems like the team members are safe and on their way home.
Dear Church,
Jason Gee was able to contact the Peru teams airline (Copa Air) to check the status and passenger manifest of their flight from Lima to Panama city. For confidentiality reasons they were not able to give the exact names, however, through some smooth talking Jason was able to verify that Diane and Ray had checked in, landed safely in Panama City and are now checked in to Houston, TX. We weren’t able to verify all the names but it makes sense they are all travelling together. I’ll still keep you updated if we get direct contact from the team, but for now, thankfully, it appears that everyone is safe and on their way back home.
Here is the remainder of their itinerary. If you have time tonight, feel free to stop by the airport to welcome our team home.
Panama City to Houston - Continental Airlines Flight 876
Houston to Seattle - Continental Airlines Flight 1888, arrives in Seattle at 9:57pm
Pastor Roy, Jonathan called me from Houston, eveyone are fine. God’s protection is great! They were in a taxi when the earthquake hit, so they were not panic at all!!
Some of us are now preparing for the TOEFL test in the 21st of Sep. I personally feel kinda nervous and stressful about this test, casue I didn’t do very in the first time. Plus, whenever I thought of the huge amount of “extra” tuition fees my parents have to pay for ESL classes if I didn’t do well on this test….just stresses me out.
Anyway, I’m still having fun in Hong Kong. I also started designing the poster and information sheet for the orientation, actually just some ideas. HAHA~~
I just checked the time of my flight. I’ll be back in the 21st(Fri) at 6:30pm, so maybe I can see you all in the cell group that night right away if the flight doesn’t delay too much~~HAHA~!! I’m so excited about this~!
I checked our prayer station regularly although I did not post any request. I am so glad that we are connecting better and learning to “mind” the business of others. God is faithful. He will not give us a free ride but He walks with us. Natty, Aliza, Jessica, Dat, Alex, Jaycee, be encouraged and trust the Lord for all these ‘lessons’. Let us experience God’s grace and be a witness to His wonderful works.
Just wanna share that I’m really thankful for your prayers. I’m getting more used to my work at the Deli at Safeway. Yesterday I had a great day at work, I felt like I was in a cheerful attitude and most of my customers was happy with how I served them. I once remember how reluctant I was to clean bathrooms and take out the garbage, but now I really find out how much my job is worth it, because of it I have my health insurance, ultimately I can say I’m working to take care of myself. Thank God for that. Thank you guys for praying for me.
I just want to pray for anyone who is grieving, surviving, or looking for direction in life. I know that includes a lot of people, but I just wanna pray for them.
Hey, thanks for your prayer. I think I am totally recovered from the stomach flu.
This week, I need to start something new in my work. Really need the courage, the motivation and discipline to do it. This will also takes up quite a lot of my time. My work schedule will become more busy….. so I need wisdom in time management too. I especially need the peace at heart in dealing with heavy workload.
Carolyn~ good to hear you are healthy again. Will pray for your work and peace at heart with everything you do.
I am preparing for labor day weekend which I have to work. It’s going to be the busiest day of the month because we have a big sale. A lot of people will crowd Safeway for their BBQ and stuff. I hope I can handle serving the customers okay.
Will pray for you Aliza and Chris and everybody. Have a good weekend~!
Just an update on my pain. It’s getting somewhat better these days. I can sleep better and turn during the night with much less pain. I still cannot sleep on the back straight but I can sleep on the left side and right side. I have postponed seeing the surgeon and will not consider surgery at the moment. Thanks for all the prayers and concern. I thank to the Lord for His providence too.
The group is quite quiet at the moment. Let’s pray for each other preparing for the new term and some people facing changes in job and accommodation.
Jaycee: Good luck on your final! Will pray for you! May the blue clouds fly away, or at least sprinkle a little rain to make a flower grow
